This very wide fellow with a newspaper in his pocket and the purposeful pose was, I think, making a statement. He came into the bus station, looked at me, looked at my drawing and then stepped directly in front of me — a couple of feet away. All I could see was the windowpane plaid shirt and a newspaper I couldn’t read. So I thought, “What the heck. Draw this fellow’s back — it’s ALL you can see from here anyway.”
