    Arts Attitudes!
The folks at Arts Attitudes! have asked me to be the featured artist this year at their annual exhibit at the historic Round Lake Auditorium in Round Lake, NY.

Events get underway Thursday evening, June 14, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm with an opening Champagne Reception. There will be light fare and live music. I'll be exhibiting some of my horse racing pieces and some watercolors from European trips and even some sailing art. Other area artists will be on hand along with plenty of art to enjoy. The exhibit is open through Saturday, June 16. Hope to see you there.

    LATTE!
This shot is of our coffee each morning in Charleston. Great city and even greater coffee!

Finally back from our tour of some of the East Coast's most beautiful cities - Washington D.C., Charleston, Savannah, and St. Augustine. Wonderful road trip - 3000 miles of open highway (mostly) and amazing weather. We were really lucky.

Saw plantations and gardens on a scale I didn't think was possible. Learned about people, history, rice, sugar cane, more rice and ate some really amazing meals! Tried to draw or at least record the scenes as we experienced them for later artwork source.

Now I'm working hard on the 2012 poster which is due out mid-June as usual. Enjoy this extended spring weather and wish me luck.

    TULIPS!
I know as soon as I write this note that a monster snowstorm will come and make a fool of me. But, the weather has been so warm and sunny I can't help myself. I'm working on this year's Travers poster and a few other interesting projects. So, I'm about as happy as I get!

Just returned from a visit to La Conner, WA. They have an annual Tulip Festival and an annual poster competition. So, I thought I would look into that. From what I could see of La Conner's crop, they seem to have great galleries, majestic scenery, and thoroughbred tulips out there!

    The Four Horsemen
    Eight months and counting ...
The Travers Stakes is only about eight months away (the third Saturday in August) so, it's time for me to get busy and start to create my 2012 Travers poster.

I've been combing through the photos that my partner, Paula and I have managed to take during last racing season and only a few scenes stand out from the rest. After doing so many images of the wonderful Saratoga Racetrack it's difficult to find a view that we haven't tried. But, I think we have a couple of good candidates. So, here goes ... wish us luck!

Meanwhile, please enjoy this "Four Horsemen" image I've been working on. It's not this year's poster, but I might produce it for sale as a print. Enjoy.
  • New Year

    Off to a good start
I was out in the yard yesterday (New Year's Day) planting flower bulbs! 46° F and green grass - wow. So, I thought I'd try to help the ski weather along and run this image I drew of a fellow trying to decide if he wants to try this run. I've been in that situation before and usually I give it a go.

It was a wonderful holiday. I got to see my whole family and so many friends ... Now, to hold on until spring! I wish you all good health and great adventures.
