“The Whitney Stakes" (2015)
One day a race track official came to Paula and me and said that Mrs. Whitney had a request. Would we create one of our beautiful posters for the Whitney Stakes? Marylou Whitney did so much for so many people, we felt strongly that we should do this for her. So, we did!
The intricate Victorian Viewing Stand she commissioned over on the Oklahoma Training Track was our central image. However, we wanted to show that horses and their riders that are the real stars of the show. Here in the early morning mists two riders work their charges. So Saratoga!
